January 2025 - After each workshop, we ask the kids how they liked what they made on a scale of 1 to 10. When giving a 10 rating, they often say 10 out of 10, and I will eat it again. Sometimes like the video below, we get a 1,000 out of 10 after they made grilled chicken nachos made with plant based, baked tortilla chips. Our traffic light lesson included substituting plant based, baked tortilla chips for fattier, fried tortilla chips.

March 2025 - At the beginning of each workshop, there is ALWAYS at least one student who proclaims that they are not going to eat what we are making. We always ask that they at least take a bite to sample their work. And for the record, "bussin" turkey bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches are a good thing! Our traffic light eating lesson included substituting fried pork bacon for leaner, healthier baked turkey bacon.

April 2025 - New school partner alert! Our "kitchen" is all inclusive, so when we got the call to work with the students at Callahan School for the Deaf and Blind, we rose to the task. With the help of volunteers and a couple of their sign language translators, these kid chefs prepared delicious grape salad that was a big hit. The much anticipated licking of the spatula which happens after prep is done is the perfect affirmation that the dish was a hit. Our traffic light eating lesson included substituting processed brown sugar for agave.
